The camera is powered by the same AC plug that powers the mini wax melt warmer - so it is AC powered and no batteries to worry about. The camera will be on whenever the wax melt warmer is plugged in. The power switch on the back operates the wax melt warmer and LED light only.

Q. How does the color changing LED work?

When the power switch on the back of the device is set to the "ON" position, the mini wax melt warmer and color changing LED lights are both on. This heats up the tray on top (which is where you place a wax melt or essential oil, if desired), as well as turns on the color changing LED light, which will slowly rotate through various colors (blue, red, green, yellow, purple, etc) while the warmer is on. The warmer operates separately from the camera - the camera is always on whenever the device is plugged into AC power.

Q. Do I need any special kind of router or WiFi to use this camera?

The HC835w is dual WiFi compatible - meaning it works with both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz WiFi networks, which covers the majority of WiFi routers on the market. Certain public/private WiFi networks (like in coffee shops or hotels) may have additional security however that may not allow devices like these to connect to them however.

Q. How can I watch my recorded video playback?

There are two easy ways to watch your recorded videos on the micro SD card. The first (and easiest) way is via the smartphone app. You can use the app to remotely watch your recorded videos from anywhere. The second method is to physically remove the card and insert it into your desktop or laptop computer and click to play.
